World famous French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” This sentence can pretty much be your mantra in adding style to your home. Think elegant, smart, luxurious, and unique, rather than getting stuck in finding things that are in fashion right now. A home should be a reflection of the people living in it and their personalities. Even the nicest homes miss the mark if they seem to be out of sync with the residents. Here are some easy to apply tips to make your Thane homes looking stylish and posh.

  • Decorating a house that hasn’t been lived in is easier as compared to adding style to a home that is equipped with furniture and fitting already. But it can be done. A quick way to give a room a style-lift is by reshuffling the furniture around. You could even try exchanging furniture pieces with other rooms in the house to mix and match. For example, an armchair from your bedroom can be moved to a corner in the living room space to add drama to a room that otherwise has all the furniture in a single color. While this may consume some of your free time, it can be fun and completely inexpensive.
  • When it comes to styling a home, you must start with the living room. After all this is the space that is seen most by outsiders, and in a way it is the face of your house. If you have a small amount of money kept aside for decorating, it may be ideal to buy a bold piece of art or a light fixture for this room. A lovely sculpture or a stunning chandelier should do the trick. You may want to consider not placing the sculpture or the chandelier in the centre of the space. Such pieces attract attention no matter where they are kept so for most effect place them near one of the corners.
  • What usually appeals to people is color, so try and play around with color to bring any room to life. Here, we are not only talking about the color on the walls, although not sticking to the conventional pastels could be a good way to go; instead we are talking about furniture and casual pieces within the room. For example, if you like the furniture and walls to be in a pastel shade, add a large colorful vase in a corner with bright flowers to create a lovely contrast without disrupting the feel of the room. If your Thane homes have off-white colored walls, you may consider painting one wall a dark hue of your favorite color and decorating it with pictures of the family or an art piece in a lighter shade.
  • You can add a lot of style to any room by simply investing in some scent pillows and covers. You can find a wide range of colorful and trendy patterned pillows on the market for cheap. You can buy contrast colors to off-set the color of your couch and chairs and add a special touch to your furniture, not to mention comfort.
  • Don’t forget the living room bath. To add style to this little room that might be visited by your guests from time to time, simply buy a statement bathroom mirror. Most women will appreciate a full length one, but if space is a constraint settle for something with unique borders or a beautiful frame. Also make sure you have a matching set of toiletries. If you really want your name to be remembered, invest in getting every hand towel in the house embroidered with your initials.
