The Home in 2014: Colors, Furniture, Designs, Patterns and Affordability [Infographic]

| January 7, 2014

It is rumored that 2014 will bring new perspectives into our home, as well as keeping some of the influence we saw in 2013. The New Year will surely bring surprises into the interiors industry, some of them being presented in this infographic (see below).

What Will Be Kept in 2014?

In terms of influences that will still be around in the next year, we can say for sure that the taste for the old won’t disappear: people still love vintage and vintage still loves people. So to say, vintage furniture will definitely not depart from our side this year. If you did a lot of Christmas shopping this year and bought all the on-sale vintage furniture, don’t worry: it is still in the trends.

Minimalist furniture will still be in high demand, as always, as home designs shrink and therefore, we need more space in smaller houses or apartments. Another plus to minimalist furniture is the affordability: it costs less than a vintage piece, it is easier to repair and maintain and you don’t have to worry about the colors. You can always repaint it, add some new decorations and make it look like new each year. The materials are still of metallic nature or plastic, easy to carry, assemble and pack. For more information about the trends, you can visit the Kent Furniture section of Hillside Interiors UK.

Colors in trend are considered to be purple, yellow, red, blue, green and the forever white. New entries include kaki and different tones of colors mentioned above. The complete list of colors, patterns, furniture designs and interiors is shown below, in the Infographic.
