Butterfingers With Your Phone? How to Avoid Replacing Your Cell Every Time It Drops

| September 29, 2019

Phones are one piece of technology that feels very hard to live without, yet they break incredibly easy. If you’re a bit clumsy, you already know the pain of having a broken phone.

Instead of having to rush out and buy a new phone every time gravity wins against you, you can instead choose to follow the methods below to avoid replacing your phone.

Get a Ruggedized Case

Your first, and perhaps best, line of protection is always going to be a good phone case.

It’s not enough to get just any case, though – you’re going to want to get something that’s ruggedized.

Usually thick and made of some form of hardened rubber, these cases can handle a fall and some serious shocks without causing your phone to skip a beat.

If you are a frequent phone-dropper, this kind of case is a must-have.

Try a Screen Protector

Another great piece of protective technology is the screen protector.

This remarkably thin piece of plastic adheres to your phone’s screen and can provide an amazing amount of protection when your phone falls.

The protector can usually handle a few falls on its own, but it will eventually shatter – but when it does so, it still protects your phone’s screen from doing the same.

Get it Repaired

Even if you do break your phone, paying for a replacement isn’t always your best bet.

You can take your phone to a third-party phone repair shop to deal with almost any type of physical damage.

From cracked screens to problems with the battery, these shops will usually take care of the problems for a fraction of what it would cost you to get a new phone.

This is definitely a great option for anyone who wants to hang on to a phone after it’s been broken.

Get a Warranty

Finally, you might want to consider paying for a warranty if your phone does get broken fairly often.

Warranties tend to cover a surprisingly large number of potential problems, including those that might render your phone completely inoperable.

So long as you don’t violate the terms of the warranty, you should be able to get your phone repaired or replaced with no (or minimal) charge.

This is a great protective plan for anyone who frequently breaks his or her phone.

You don’t have to run out and buy a new phone if yours is broken. Instead, you can make use of the methods above to keep your phone in working order and save some money on getting it repaired.

Try to be careful, though – even the best protection won’t always be able to save your phone.
